    It may sound obvious, but shorter daylight hours can catch couples off guard. In the UK, the sun sets as early as 4 PM in December, which means your window for natural light photos is significantly reduced. If capturing beautiful, golden-hour couple portraits is a priority, you'll need to plan accordingly.

    Whilst an outdoor ceremony in the depths of winter might look utterly enchanting, but before committing, ask yourself: will your guests be comfortable? Standing outside in freezing temperatures, especially for an extended period, might not be ideal for everyone (think elderly guests or those with young children).


    If you do have an outdoor element to your day—whether it’s your ceremony, a drinks reception, or even a sparkler send-off—consider adding practical touches to keep guests warm. Patio heaters, fire pits, cozy blankets, and even warm drinks like mulled wine or hot chocolate can make all the difference!
