If your looking for wedding inspiration that screams pure joy, look no further!
This flower filled yurt wedding in Mid Wales was inspired by Ibiza, bursting with vibrant pink and orange blooms, festival-style décor, and stunning floral installations that brough serious wow-factor. From the relaxed daytime ceremony to the all-night party, this flower-filled celebration was bursting with colour, laughter and light, the ultimate boho-festival wedding dream!

The Vibe
Our couple, Katie & Alun, wanted a day that felt colourful, relaxed, full of fun and totally THEM! Ibiza energy but set in the rolling Welsh countryside.
The wedding ceremony and reception both took place inside a large, circular yurt just outside the couple's home. The white walls and natural timber frame offering the perfect blank canvas for vibrant florals and festival-style décor.
They kept the morning intimate with a handful of close family and friends before opening up the yurt doors later in the day for the ultimate Ibiza-inspired wedding party, filled with music, dancing, and more flowers than you could imagine!

Why did this design work so well?
We worked closely with the couple to ensure that every design element flowed beautifully throughout the day. The result was a cohesive, impactful, and immersive wedding design that truly wowed their guests and created that magical festival feel.
The Colour Palette
The bride and groom told us they wanted “bold Ibiza energy” so we selected a palette of vibrant hot pink and tobasco orange and deep teal with accents of metallic gold. The colour palette was clear but varied which keeps the eye interested.
This bold wedding colour palette was then used repeatedly across their festival themed wedding decor; from the flowers and to the tablescapes and handmade bar (painted deep teal by the couple themselves!). This filtered through to the little details such as the personalised beer cups, confetti, smoke bombs and ribbons fluttering in the breeze.
A strong, repeated colour story helps every element feel intentional and well-designed. No detail felt random or out of place!
Textural Interest
Metallic highlights were used consistently throughout the day with gold highlights used for cutlery, candlesticks, glassware, frames and signage adding a luxurious touch and making the design feel curated and purposely selected rather than thrown together.
The wood framed yurt was complimented by the choice of furniture which added warmth and grounded the white space. Oak crossed back chairs and rustic tables making it feel like all of the elements were working together.
Together with the varied colour palette, there is enough going on to keep our eyes entertained but not so much that it becomes confusing and muddled.

The Floral Concept
Although sticking with the main colour palette we then added in the tonal flower choices, pinks and warm oranges with punches of coral and peach to add depth, creating a full luxurious feel with added interest.
Rather than shifting into pastels flowers or soft neutral territory, we kept the tone bold so that the colour choices POPPED against the backdrop of the white yurt. This is important to consider when thinking of creating an impactful space. If the same designs had been created with white blooms, although stunning, would have blended into the background without giving the same wow factor. Contrast is key to making flowers stand out!

The Initial WOW for guests
The floral designs were positioned intentionally so that the first view of the space was abundant in flowers. We wanted guests to walk in and immediately be surrounded by flowers. So rather than scattering small arrangements, we focused on large floral installations that created instant impact; the doorway entrance was framed with a "broken arch" (used earlier in the day as a ceremony focal point), a statement hanging hoop adorned with disco balls and meadows lined the front of the DJ booth (repurposed from their initial position as aisle markers) creating a real WOW moment.
The larger pieces were complimented by smaller designs, like the table flowers and trailing foliage swags attached to the yurt poles. Although relatively small themselves, when positioned around a large central design make the space feel even more green and flower-filled giving them impression of masses of flowers which when positioned in key areas, they were viewed - and photographed - at all times giving an immersive party feeling. The result was a flower-filled party space that felt magical from every angle!

Wedding Florist Tips for Couples Planning Something Similar
Match your yurt / tipi / marquee with the VIBE: Traditional tipis tend to create a rustic cosy intimate feeling, whilst light and bright marquees feel more spacious and formal. Yurts tend to sit somewhere in the middle, less formal but still light and bright.
Plan for lighting in advance: Lighting transforms your space as the day turns to night. Think fairy lights, uplighting for your floral hoop, and disco balls for that Ibiza sparkle!
Stick to a few main colours, but don't be afraid of adding tones into floral arrangements: Choose two or three main tones (like pink, orange and green), then add variations through flowers for depth and interest.
Think vertical: Hanging floral installations create height, drama, and a real sense of atmosphere- especially inside yurts or marquees.Adding florals at higher levels creates a vibe that really surrounds and envelopes your guests.
Reuse floral features: If I've said it once I'll say it again; it's just good sense! Move large installations from your ceremony to your reception — it’s smart, sustainable and cost-effective.
Don’t forget the bar & transition areas: These relaxed areas often get overlooked, but they’re where guests linger. Adding flowers here ties your whole design together and keeps the space cohesive.
