When I held our first "get to know each other" call with Alexa and Tommy, they made one thing very clear; they were not going for a traditional white wedding, they wanted COLOUR. And lots of it.
For Alexa and Tommy, one of the most important aspects of their wedding planning was creating a vibrant and impactful flower-filled space to create lifelong memories of their summer garden party themed wedding at Plas Dinam Country House in Powys. So that's what we created- the ultimate in dopamine design!
The Personal Flowers
Alexa had opted for eclectic mix and match sunset jewel shades for her bridesmaids, we complimented them with seasonal blooms, such as peonies, and provided a contrasting POP with electric blue delphinium and turmeric yellow roses. The look all came together with jewel toned silk ribbon.
Not to be outshone, the boys looked fantastic in their own florals. Mix and match boutonniere style buttonholes, each a little different from the rest, really popped against their navy blue suits. The Groom's buttonhole had an extra special flourish, a POP of blue delphinium to compliment those used in the bridal bouquet.
The Ceremony
Alexa & Tommy's wedding ceremony took place in front of the period property; Plas Dinam Country House, with it's stunning arched doorway creating the perfect backdrop for the wedding vows. Alexa was keen on florals that blurred the lines between wild nature and vibrant summer garden blooms. We created a stunning display of unstructured plinth arrangements that flowed down onto the floor below and cascaded down the aisle.
The vibrant pops of colour created the perfect combination of wild summer meadows with that all important "garden party" vibe.
The Drinks Reception
The ceremony was followed by the ultimate laid back garden party drinks reception on the main lawn at Plas Dinam; delicious canapes and nibbles from Paisley Flour, beer pong, sunshine and party tunes - what more could you want?!
The Wedding Breakfast
Whilst Alexa, Tommy and their guests were playing beer pong and enjoying canapes on the main lawn, we repositioned the flowers from their wedding ceremony to the reception space in Plas Dinam's stables. The aisle flowers decorated the bar area and the ends of trestle tables and the lush focal arrangements were repositioned to either side of the entrance, creating a magical immersive feeling for their guests as they entered the space.
The room was dressed with statement hanging "cloud" installations and a backdrop of lush tropical foliage with bud vases of vibrant flowers lining the tables laid out in a banqueting style. Tapered candles complimented the flowers and dusky blue napkins added depth to the table design. The effect? A vibrant and joyful flower-filled wedding giving ultimate garden party vibes!
