I decided to use Amber & Gold for last weeks #MidWeekWeddingInspo because I read online (I forget where - somewhere in the deep depths of Googling wedding trends... *Guilty pleasure*) that mustard was going to be big for weddings in 2019.
Mustard can be a bit polarizing. It's a bit out there I guess. But it kind of makes sense - mustard has been EVERYWHERE on the high street for the last couple of years so, yeah, maybe we're ready to move away from the more traditional wedding ivories & white?! You'll notice I've called this "Amber & Gold" rather than Mustard... Purely because it sounds a bit more romantic and wedding-y. I'm sure you get it.
Anyway, so here's a snip from my Pinterest board. (Obviously I don't own these photographs - click through to see the original pics.)
To talk you through it: I've paired the burnt oranges of Ranunculi, Poppies & Heuchera with golden yellow Craspedia, Yarrow & Amaranthus. Twirly poppy stems add flow & lightness. Bright Amber & Gold are neautralised with cappuccino roses, Scabisa pods and dark purple-brown Heuchera leaves. Whilst Tea Roses, Stock, Lisanthus & Foxgloves provide splashes of peach and apricot which brighten the colour palette. Bouquets are tied with trailing silk ribbon in cappuccino, gold & amber. Brass candlesticks & antique brown apothecary bottles holding single stems of textured flowers, grasses & seed pods sit on trestle tables draped with pale fawn gaze.
P.S. Don't worry if you don't understand any of the arty technical bit - I've added the names in so that you know what to ask for if any of it takes your liking!
What's the verdict?! Are we ready for some Mustard / Amber & Gold weddings in 2019? Let me know what you think! Also ideas for future colour schemes greatly appreciated!!
