3 Top Tips: To Keep Your Flowers Fresh For Longer!!

Hello!

I hope you have had a beautiful Valentine's / Galentine's weekend, whichever you might be celebrating this year!

If you've been lucky enough to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers over the weekend, you might now be wondering how to keep them looking SUPER FRESH for longer. Here are my top tops!

1. Re-cut the stems

One a flower is picked, the cut stem's natural reaction is to seal over to protect itself from bacteria. This means, if you then put the sealed stem back in to water it cannot drink it -the seal gets in the way... So it is really important to re-cut! Cut an inch or two from the stems at a diagonal, in order to maximise the amount area that the stem has to drink up water!

2. Refresh the water

Try to refresh the water in your vase every couple of days. I know, it's so easy to forget! But it really will increase the longevity of your cut flowers. At a minimum change the water whenever you start to notice it going cloudy to prevent bacteria build-up in the water.

3. Keep them away from heat

Keep your vase in cool area, away from direct sunlight and draughts. The hotter the flowers, the faster they bloom, the faster they wilt and die. Keep them away from that fireplace and they'll stay nice and fresh for longer!

So there we go! Three super easy ways to keep your flowers super fresh for longer!

Let me know how you get on!
